CORTIJO TORRE DE JUAN ABAD.
Reform and expansion of a farm in the countryside for a foreign family that needs space to provide accommodation and service to all its members in holiday periods. The extension consists in completing the main house with 9 bedrooms and their corresponding bathrooms, a living room and a dining room for family gatherings and a space for cellar, gym and spa.
Next to the main house a new building is designed to house the guard and the service, and to locate the facilities room.
The 9 bedrooms are arranged around a patio, continuing with the scheme of organization through courtyards of the old farmhouse.
From the beginning of the project, we try to preserve the aesthetics of the vernacular architecture of the old house, using the same materials and optimizing their characteristics. At the same time, we use structures that allow us to provide the house with large spaces with large windows for greater family comfort.
It is one of the most outstanding works of the study. In it we have respected the main characteristics of the vernacular architecture of the original farmhouse. In turn, we have introduced new aesthetic components that dialogue in harmony with pre-existence.
